I have had several people write to me requesting information of various sorts. It's usually people looking for someone who knew a friend or relative that was in Viet-Nam. More often than not I am unable to answer the inquires. So, I decided to start this page in hopes that someone out there can supply that information. (To those of you who wrote early on and I've lost the request for information, I apologize. If you see this and write me, I'd be more than happy to post it.)

If you have any questions about VN, send them to me and I'll be happy to post them. Someone who knows the answer to your inquiry or knew your friend or loved one, is likely to come by and write to you. (Let me know when and if you want your query taken off the page.)

To those of you who know of good general resources (on the net or otherwise) where people can find out about individuals that served in VN, please let the rest of us know about them.

My Dad was Nathan C. McBride He served in Vietnam, but I am not sure where. He has a plaque with Dak Pek, Dak Sean, Da Nang, and Dak To on it. I have his zippo inscribed from the guys at B-??? Pleiku 1970.

Dad passed away 0n 10Mar03 from Cancer attributed to Agent Orange. After many years, Vietnam finally killed my Dad.

If ANYONE has ANY info on what he did, and where he went, I would appreciate it. He never wanted to share much, until the end.

My husband (Adair, Everette G. ) served with the 77th 5th 6th 10th. We are looking for some folks we were stationed with along the lines.

Some of the best years of our life were spent in Special Forces. We celebrated our 47th years together this last year. After his tour in Viet Nam the 2th time he went into recruiting duty in California a year in Korea and the balanced short time at Ft Ord CA. I think it was 16 years in Special Forces.

I would so like to surprise him with any list and email address to locate old friends. Thanks again Karen Karen96@cox.net

Does anyone know of a SF site documenting the battle on 6/10/65 where VC overran camp? I've got lots of news articles and some pictures and would like more.

I was a crew chief on a 1st Cav Huey in Mar.'68 when we were detached to support SF missions out of FOB 5, in Phu Bai. We made two extractions from the A Shau Valley and the aircraft was shot up during the second extraction. A member of the SF team was killed before we could get to the team. The surviving SF guy clearly had Kryptonite gonads and an intense will to live. I wonder if he's still around, or are any who served out of that FOB which I remember being at the north end of Phu Bai.

Page, Jim  Would like to find Lt. T.H.Eggars Last seen on cover of National G. at Viet Nam Mem. dedication.
Ist Force Reconnaissance need a bit of back up from the I CORPS A-team members.

As you all know we have a page on Force Recon on the Gia Vuc website as they pulled some time at G-V and other A camps http://www.gia-vuc.com/forcerecon.htm

One of their members Ray Rossi is trying to piece together their involvement in the Operation Starlight which took place in September 1965 (which has also been called the Battle for Chu Lai) and which took place off the Batangan Penninsula.

Ist Force Reconnaissance operated out of
Gia-Vuc,
Bato,
Kham-Duc
Tra-Bong
prior to Starlight.

So we are looking for any information, recollection from team members from the above camps ,
time frame we are talking around APRIL 1965 to DECEMBER 1965.
So regarding Gia Vuc the relevant Teams are
A-112 ( UNFORTUNATELY HAVE NOW LOST CONTACT WITH AATTV Adviser Alec Morris, AND NO CONTACT WITH ANY OF IT'S US TEAM MEMBERS YET)
A-113 (mainly)
A-103,
Also some of your buddies may have served at Bato, Kham-Duc or Tra-Bong during that time and they may have some information or may remember these Marines?

So please be kind enough to pass that e-mail ! (more info on Force Recon on the website, see link above)

and to contact me info.gia-vuc@tiscali.co.uk or Ray Rossi direct at ross1stfr@npgcable.com

Best regards to all
