Billy With Battalion CO and XO

One of the guys in the 39th (Dan O'Brien), took the photo of me, our CO, and the Battalion XO, the day before we moved out back to Tuy Hoa Base by convoy. This was when the XO decided to give us all the support we needed. He met with A-221's Team Leader to assess the VC movements in the area. His Huey landed at A-221's LZ, and you can see the camp in the background. Sgt. Franklin is leaning on the front door of the Chopper, and I am in back of the XO, and our CO. Sgt. Franklin was killed some months later up at Chu Lai...there is an article on our web page that tells the story.
