Teams/Camps in SE ASIA:
Nhon Co (Quang Duc Province) 66-67
Dak Seang and Dak Pek teams during major battle in 1970.
Comments:
During the Battle of Dak Seang and Dak Pek, I obtained support from a BasketBall
01 (C-119 flareship) to support the forces at Dak Pek who were under attack
at night. There was also a Shadow (AC-119) which was involved in the operation.
These two aircraft stayed over the area until releaved by others. I was told
that there were numerous enemy casualties.
If you worked w/SF:
I was a member of the Air Force Tactical Air Control Party with the 4th Infantry
at An Khe when I was sent to support the SF Encampments at Dak Seang and Dak
Pek. I was with the MACV Advisory Team at Gia Nghia when I worked with the SF
Team at Nhon Co.
Information sent in previously:
I was ALO/FAC radio operator in Nam in support of the Battle of Dak Seang and
Dak Pek in 1970. During the closing days, Dak Pek came under attack and needed
air support during the night. I finally obtained a C-119 flareship out of I
Corp and a Shadow (C-119) formed up with him after a resupply mission at Dak
Seang.
Never did meet any of the men from those camps but will always remember my association with the team worked so hard at the support base during that time.
Would like to hear from anyone who was involved in this particular battle. God Bless all of you. I was an AF E-5 at that time.
