Comments: I am writing an agented book about Vietnam. I served with the 54th Signal Bn
(Corps) in Camp McDermott, your neighbor in the "burbs" of Nha Trang. In
particular, I am interested in hearing from Green Berets who were in 5th SFG HQ in late
February, 1968 when you took a massive ground attack from local mainforce VC. I will be
telling the story from my perspective on the perimetet of McDermott, but would very much
like to include 5th SFG perspective. It might well have been a successful attack, but our
collective butts were saved by a succession of three very large formations of gunships
that came over the mountains and commenced firing as they entered the lowland.
