Eric P. Muller

Sgt. Eric P. Muller (communictions specialist). He was assigned to Det. A-223 and was killed in action by hostile gun fire during a firefight on Spetember 7, 1967. At the time, his unit was, as I understand it, working with montagnards. Despite multiple gunshot wounds to the stomach, he apparently refused medical attention and called in airstrikes. At the close of the action, he was stillalive but died on his wounds on the medivac helicopter. He was awarded the Silver Star (posthumously) and was decorated by the Republic of Vietnam.
