Served with B-34 at Song Be Aug 65 - Sep 66.
Tangerine 31

Had lots of real good friends in the SF but over the intervening years we just sort of lost contact. Maybe someone will recognize the name and make contact again.

1. My ALO, Charlie Pocock, worked out of Hon Quan when he first got there. Think it was around Dec-Jan 66, then he moved up to Song Be and became the ALO there. He was shot down around one of the rubber plantations around Hon Quan and walked back into camp. [As chronicled in the book: Viper 7 by Charles Pocock]

2. My 13 months (Aug 65-Sep 66) working with the men of Det B-34 at Song Be, A-341(Bu Dop), 342 (Dong Xaoi), 343 (Duc Phong) were the most memorable of my 20 year career. They were all great guys and I hope every one of them made it home safely. Especially memorable were LtCol Roy and Sergeant Major George Manuel, they made me feel right at home even though I was AF and somewhat out of my element. Even enjoyed doing the PLF's off the bar stools every now and then, but drew the line when someone suggested the roof. Can never forget making the PX run to Saigon with MSgt Browning either, spent the night at the Team House in Cholon (I think) had a great time and met lots of new and interesting people.

Jim Meade (Tangerine 31 / 4 Harvest Night) & Wing Nut to some.
