Camp Plei Djereng A-251in II Corps. I arrived at the camp in
early 1966. It was a triangle shaped camp in the forks of two rivers,
northwest of Pleiku and west of Plei Mrong. There were real high mountains
on the east side of the river. The VC would register their mortars on the
camp weekly before going to hit Pleiku. In late 1966 we selected a new site
south about ten miles and built a new star shaped camp. When we built the
new camp Cpt. Peters was the Team Leader and MSG Mickey Meehan was the Team
Sergeant. I was a Buck Sergeant and the Heavy Weapons Sergeant.
