If you worked w/SF: I was assigned to the 5th as a teletype repairman in June, 1969, and served at three locations for a year total. I don't remember much, but a few names: Frank Denney, Aaron Beasrd, Jonathon Reid. I think our mission was training Cambodian soldiers. And I think we were called 51st (?) Combat Training Battallion, or something like that, after the 5th's colors were returned stateside. A lot of great guys, and a few crazy guys. I was an 18 year old baby, and SGT Beard took care of me. I wish I could thank him. Man, it's tough just talking about those times, and I wasn't even in the hot stuff. I'd love to hear from someone with a memory of my camps. I thought Pleiku was beautiful, even with the daily rain, at 3 in the afternoon. And I fell in love with a beautiful young girl there, but never talked to or touched her. Anyway, I'm glad I found this site, while researching a unit at the Bluegrass Station in Lexington, KY for the work I'm doing. Thanks.
