I was a 1st Lt. XO of A-323 Thien Ngon from March
through August 1969. My wife stumbled across this web site and discovered that
Reg Manning who I served with in March in this camp had left info on the web. I
have some pictures and maybe more importantly a copy of the AO map that I used
while there. I believe the scale is 1:50,000 which makes it pretty decent.

While there I used small reel-to-reel half hour tapes to talk to my wife instead
of letters. We are in the process of editing transcripts of 21 hours of tape
that are
preserved. The local city archives have asked us to do this for them. Much
of it is just chat of a personal nature but a lot is the daily activity
described in some detail with the frustrations that came with it. Tapes
allow for the emotions to show through - both good and bad, and for
background sound effects. !
