Sgt. 1st Class Nathan Chapman, 1st SFG(A), of San Antonio, Texas. Chapman,
a 31-year-old Green Beret communications specialist, was the father of two children.
He was the first U.S. soldier to die in combat in Afghanistan. Pentagon officials
said Friday he was part of the elite and not officially acknowledged "Delta
Force" division of U.S. special forces.
