"He arrived at Tra Bong 12 January 1966. He was killed in an ambush 29 January 1966. Killed with him were, John P. Fewell, Jr , Donald J. Jacobsen , Elmer J. Reifschneider, Jr. Approximately 100 Montagnards were killed with them also. The lost patrol that claimed their lives is recounted in Shelby L. Stanton's book, The Green Berets At War.
