A109 Thuong Duc Area 69-70Ashau valley area 1970 we had a SF team in hard contact many wounded, a Seal Team was sent in to help and got hit bad also, then we got a call to extract in BAD weather ,2 slicks where talked into LZ by rotor sound, in the fog,under heavy fire, NVA could not see us but could hear us, very bad day --drop of supplies and picked up wounded and flew them out to hospital ship Repose

we supported 5th SFGrp all over I Corp Hoi Area,Khe Sanh, A Shau Area Camp A104, A105, A106, A109 Fire Base Ripcord, Fire base Barbara, and many others,At 5th Grp HQ in DaNang by Marble Mtn who had that big Boa?? snake that took 5-6 SF to hold it?? You guys scared the shit out of me, when I walked around the bldg. One day a Captian and SFC from 5th Grp came to our airfield to meet us and thanks us for nailing those Bastards, on the mtn top west of A109, that day all we had where rockkets with flecthettes no HE rds.

I flew with the 282 Assault Helicopter Co out of Marble Mtn Airfield, I was a Door Gunner with the Blackcats slicks then transfered to Alleycats Gunships, We did incertions and extractions ,resupply missions. and air support. also with 75th Rangers out of Camp Eagle, and some times Force Recon out of DaNang area.
