Detachment A-121, 1st SFGA

A-121, commanded by Major Cole, was located at Qui Nhon, Binh Dinh province, II CTZ, during the period 9 April 1965 -5 October 1965. This detachment, a modified "A" Detachment, acted as a "B' Detachment with operational control over four "A" Detachments from the 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne) in Binh Dinh Province. A-l21 was required to set up RF/PF camps to accommodate three new teams that were being organized to support the new Regional-Popular Forces Program. A-121 accomplished its mission by getting the initial RF/PF program started and operating smoothly before a full "B" Detachment replaced them.**
