Detachment A-422, 1st SFGA

A-422, commanded by Capt Guynn, was located at Plei Ta Nagle, Pleiku Province, II CTZ, during the period 21 August 1964 to 16 February 1965. The detachment's primary mission was to assist the Vietnamese Army Special Forces (LLDB) in advising and equipping the Civilian Irregular Defense Group (CIDG). In Addition, the Detachment was able to accomplish numerous civic action projects which greatly assisted in the pacification of their area of operation.*
